Cedar Hill Sale Cattle
Roots 2.0 Female Production Sale
Over its 125 year history R.A. Brown Ranch has become one of the nation’s preeminent sources of superior beef genetics. Being a member of their cooperator team since 2001, Cedar Hill Farm is the second oldest Red Angus breeder on their team. Two years ago, along with other members of the cooperator team, we launched the “Roots of our Success” elite Red Angus female offering. That event featured superior Red Angus females at both R.A. Brown Ranch headquarters in Throckmorton, Texas and Cedar Hill Farm in Jane Lew, WV.
As R.A. Brown Ranch cooperators we utilize the latest sciences and adhere to the highest standards possible to assure continued advancements in the genetics we produce for our customers. Following prescribed genetic and management guidelines we produce bulls – the top half of which are delivered to R.A. Brown Ranch for feed efficiency testing, ultrasound carcass measurements, phenotype / structural correctness evaluation, foot and docility scoring, prior to being sold in one of their biannual bull sales.
An added pull through benefit to the continued genetic improvement in the bulls we produce is the outstanding cow herd it has enable us build. On November 14th we are teaming up with our good friends and fellow R.A. Brown Ranch cooperators, Jim and Jessica Yance, owners of JYJ Red Angus, to share the fruits or our labor in the Roots 2.0 female production sale. Together we have a 33 year combined history as cooperators breeding superior Red Angus genetics with R.A. Brown Ranch. It is with great pride and satisfaction that Roots 2.0 will allow us to share and showcase the best of our respective herds. These females represent many of the dams, daughters and sisters of high-selling bulls from the R.A. Brown Ranch sales from the most recent years.
Red Angus has been the fastest growing beef breed of the last decade, and that’s largely due to the breed being rooted in reproductive efficiency and trouble-free characteristics of the Red Angus cow. Roots 2.0 will feature a hand-picked offering of superior genetic and phenotypic value to ensure the breed’s continued growth over the next decade. Join us at Cedar Hill Farm at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 14th. You’ll see proven donors, high MPPA producers, Top 1% Profitability indexes, elite feed efficiency and front pasture phenotype. In short, you’ll find females that have been designed to further Red Angus’ leadership role by providing genetics to enhance beef industry profitability.
